2009 - New Year, New President, Better Foods(?)

So there I was minding my own business and all of a sudden, the holidays hit me! How the heck am I supposed to know what Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Years are all about?? I'm only 6 months old. Anyway, it sent me for a loop. Left was right, up was down... it was crazy.

I've finally gotten back to my routine a bit - but man... do I have some pictures for you guys!

Ok, Ok, Ok... So the last time I posted, I had just started eating solid foods. Some good, some bad... all organic and my mom makes them all at home. No jar food for this guy! Nuh uh!

So around the middle of December they told me I had to take some Hanukkah photos. I didn't know what they were talking about - but i went along for the ride anyway. Sounds fun, I love photos, and Hanukkah is fun to say! Hhhhanooookkkahhhhh.

... and not too long after that, I was told that it was Christmas. And that would explain the tree in the house with all the lights and crazy stuff hanging from it. My mother (being the joker she is) thought it would be really funny if I had some antlers for Christmas so I would look like a reindeer. Brilliant mom... thanks! I'm sure this one will come back to haunt me!

... yup - you see it right. That's me sitting up on my own. I love sitting up and I'm starting to scootch a bit - but we'll get to that later. First I need a break. And as much as I love some of those green beans and squash, I still love a nice warm bottle. In fact, I actually like holding it and feeding myself these days.

... stand back ladies... I plan to use these eyes to my advantage one day!

Anyway - so like I was sayin' - these holiday thingys - they were really fun! Everyone was really happy and playful. I got this really cool toy from my aunt and uncle and I wasn't really sure what it did - so I had to test it out the only way I know how:

Ohhhh cool. I love this! Check it out!

... and I also got some really cool new PJs. I love new PJs and I don't mind showing them off for the camera.

It wasn't but a couple days after Christmas when they told me it was yet ANOTHER holiday. Apparently this one is called New Years. I had no idea what was going on - but they told me to wear a hat and be silly, so being the 6 month old I was... I did just what they asked. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

As we rolled right into 2009, I took a trip down to Lauderdale and visited with some family and wait... Oooooo a DOG!! How fun! Maybe I can have my parents rethink this whole 'cat' thing. She's fun and all... but this is a DOG!!!

Maybe not. They keep pushing the cat thing.

Anyway, the park down the street from my house is a really great one. Almost every evening I get to go play and enjoy the warm Florida winter. So here we are 'swinging right into a new year' *bud-dum-bum-tsh*

Hahaha... I love that one... swinging... New Year... too funny! Hahaha.

A-ha. Ok. Eh-hem. So where was I? Oh yeah, so things are moving right along. I mentioned earlier that I'm starting to scootch. Well, the rolling around and tummy time has led me to find new ways of being mobile. I can scootch myself backward a bit and I'm working on going forward as well. And you KNOW what that means!! Yup... let's go dad - time to babyproof this joint! I'm on board... just tell me what tools you need!

I like playing with daddy's stuff and I'm sure that's gonna get him started on securing the house soon enough. In the meantime, thanks for checking in. I will keep you all updated soon.

Happy New Year and may 2009 be the best yet!

Scary Times!

Sometimes not much happens in the course of a week, so i don't bother making a big deal about it. But this week was different. Within the last week, i've tried eating big boy foods... just in time for Halloween. Here's my dad's first attempt at feeding me some of "the good stuff."

... and the verdict is...

ehhh - not so good. Maybe i'll like it better in a couple weeks. But that "spoon airplane" thing is pretty fun! hehe.

And if that's not enough - here are some pics of me on Halloween. Yes... they dressed me up as a Monkey. Who'd have guessed that one?!

here are some more pics of me outside the house waiting for the trick or treaters. Can't wait for that next year. Mmmmm.

WHERE ARE THEY?? I'M GONNA TAKE A NAP IF THEY DON'T GET HERE SOON!!!

... oh well. It was a fun night anyway. There ended up being tons of trick or treaters and i got to go see some good friends. It was kinda a late night but i slept like a brick when i got home.

Till next time. See ya soon!

The Fall Brings New Friends

... Happy Autumn all y'all. My dad says that Autumn is his favorite season of the year. This is my first Autumn so i'm gonna have to wait and see if i agree. The weather is getting cooler and I'm starting to wear jeans and long pants. It's a whole new experience. Here i am at the local pumpkin patch. It was a bit sunny that day but i had so much fun!

I've also been having some fun with some of my new friends. Let me introduce you to them. Here is a picture of me and my friend Tiggy.

I never thought i'd meet anyone who liked kisses more than me, but i was wrong. Tiggy loves kisses too.

I also want to introduce you to my newest friend. He's a puppy and i love him very much. Here we are on the changing table. He likes hugs!

... oh, but don't worry - he likes kisses too. Can you feel the love, people??

Other than that, things are moving right along. I have my 4 month doctor's appointment coming up next week. I think i'm going to get some solid foods started soon. Just wait till you see those pics. Hehehe.

See ya soon!

Tricks & Treats

So, I've been growing like you wouldn't believe. I have a couple of new tricks to show you. Here's my rollover. I've been rolling. Back and forth... back and forth. This one shows me on my belly rockin the pose!

But that's not all. I've also found my thumb. Check it out!

My dad always tells me "monkey see, monkey do" - so who's this monkey, Dad?

As you all can see... the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Nice sweater vest dad. Hehehehe.

Other than that - i had a great time in California. Visiting with friends and family. Here i am getting ready for my first plane ride. Up, Up and Away!!

I'm also enjoying the baseball playoffs. Even though my dad doesn't have a team in the hunt for the crown, he is teaching me the finer points of baseball appreciation. I have a feeling i'm going to love this game quite a bit.

I'll make sure to check back in soon! Adios amigos. See that... I'm learning Spanish. Bilingual.

Takin What They're Givin

... cause I'm workin for a livin!

Hello peeps. Time is just flying by and I'm growing by the minute. I'm not quite sure whether i want to be a baseball player or a rock star. So i'll let you guys decide. First, check out my baseball look. I'm gripping the baseball rattle with my left, then my right. My dad makes me use both hands.

Some of you may be asking "Thomas, what uniform do you wear when you play ball"? Well, lately i've been wearing my Trenton Thunder shirt. My dad wears his when Joba pitches - so now i have one too. Check it out.

So that's where my baseball career is headed. As far as my rockstar dream - well, i'm working on that too. The first thing any rockstar needs is "Rockstar Hair" and NO shirt. And when i'm done with my bath - I rock the curls. The ladies love the curls.

The next thing you need is the ability to really belt out a high note! Just like this...

... and last but not least - you need a persona. And i've been studying Ozzy. Check it out - "I... Am... Ironman!"

Ok... haha. Well - those are just a couple of the things i've been working on. As always, there is nothing i like better than nighttime. That's when i get to put on my PJs and get ready for sleepytime. Thanks for checking in. Good Night Moon!

Monkey See, Monkey Do!

So I'm not sure why Dad keeps calling me a Monkey - but my best guess is because all i do is hang around. I'm paying more attention to the little things now and this world seems pretty cool. Here i am posing for the camera. I'm getting the hang of this stuff:

And check out the new chair that i sit in to watch ballgames. It's so great. I love the back support. I can sit up like a big boy!

Someone... and believe it or not.. not my dad... but someone got me these new pajamas that fit me really well. They must have heard that i liked the Yankees. Although - my dad keeps telling me that they are not so good this year. But they fit me sooooo well...

When the game ends and i can't sit up anymore, there's nothing i like better than a good nap. I've actually watched Winky enough to know that the couch is more comfortable than you think.

... and that's where you'll find me for a while. So, i'll catch up with you all soon. Please feel free to drop a note.

Shakin My Money Maker

That's the word these days! I'm exploring music at a mad pace. From Abba to Zappa and everything in between. All on vinyl. All day long.

And i've been working on my dance moves too. Check out this move. I call it "The Frog"

Can you dig it? I thought that you could. Beatles shirt courtesy of my cousin Alex. Shout out!

I know it's been a while since I posted. And clearly i've been doing more than learning about music and dancing. I've actually started to slip into some pretty cool sleeping and eating patterns. And i'm growing more and more everyday. I feel like i have a growth spurt every 3 weeks. Last time i posted i was like 23 inches, and now i'm at least 23.5 or 24 inches. Getting long and strong, y'all.

Sometimes i feel like all i wanna do is eat. And then i just wanna pass out! Wherever i can...

Lately i've been good enough to let others eat as well. And that's when i can rock the bouncy seat. I'm not sure where this thing came from - but it might be my favorite chair. I can dance in it while listening to my favorite cuts.

Well, after a good dance session, i guess it's time to do what i do best. If anyone is looking for me - you know where to find me! Always look for the exposed foot! It's a dead giveaway!
